BGN has signed a new contract with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) for the construction of four additional 93,000 cbm LPG dual-fuel Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs), further strengthening its global shipping and logistics platform.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Istanbul on 14 October 2026. The vessels will be built in South Korea and are expected to be delivered in January 2030. Once delivered, the order will increase BGN’s owned LPG VLGC fleet from 19 to 23 vessels, building on its existing fleet of more than 40 owned and chartered vessels.

The latest investment brings BGN’s total number of new dual-fuel VLGCs contracted with HD HHI in 2026 to 10 vessels, following agreements for four 90,000 cbm vessels announced in April and two 93,000 cbm vessels announced in June.

The new vessels will feature dual-fuel technology, enabling them to operate on LPG as well as conventional marine fuels. This supports more efficient shipping operations and BGN’s wider commitment to advancing the decarbonization of maritime transport.

Ozan Turgut, BGN Shipping Director, said:
“We are excited by the pace at which BGN is growing its shipping fleet. By accelerating investment in state-of-the-art vessels, we are building the capacity needed to support our strategic growth and diversify our global energy portfolio.”

The agreement builds on BGN’s longstanding partnership with HD HHI and reflects its continued investment in modern shipping infrastructure to support the growth of its global trading operations. By expanding its owned fleet and strengthening strategic maritime partnerships, BGN is reinforcing the logistics capabilities that underpin its LPG business and help connect global energy markets.
