LNG Market Analyst

We are looking for an analytical and commercially minded LNG Market Analyst to support our LNG trading activities through market research, fundamental analysis, market intelligence and data-driven insights.

The successful candidate will monitor global LNG markets, identify key market drivers and developments, and translate market data into actionable insights to support trading and commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze global LNG markets, including supply, demand, trade flows, pricing and market fundamentals.
  • Track LNG production, liquefaction utilization, outages, maintenance and new project developments across key producing regions.
  • Analyze LNG demand, imports, storage levels, regasification activity and weather-related demand drivers across major consuming markets.
  • Monitor LNG vessel movements, shipping routes, freight rates and global trade flows to identify changes in market dynamics.
  • Follow key LNG pricing benchmarks and related markets, including JKM, TTF, Henry Hub and WTI, and assess their impact on LNG economics.
  • Conduct fundamental and quantitative analysis to identify market trends, opportunities and potential risks.
  • Prepare regular market reports, dashboards, forecasts and presentations for the trading and management teams.
  • Support traders with timely market intelligence and analysis of relevant market events and developments.
  • Develop and maintain market databases, models and analytical tools using reliable internal and external data sources.
  • Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, macroeconomic and infrastructure developments that may impact LNG markets and global trade flows.
  • Analyze regional price spreads, arbitrage opportunities and market correlations.
  • Work closely with LNG traders, commercial teams and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide relevant analytical support.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of market analysis methodologies, forecasting tools and reporting processes.

Qualification

  • Previous exposure to an LNG trading desk or commodity trading environment.
  • Experience analyzing LNG pricing, shipping economics, vessel movements or physical commodity flows.
  • Knowledge of LNG contracts, pricing formulas, destination flexibility and arbitrage dynamics.
  • Experience with market data and intelligence platforms such as S&P Global Commodity Insights, Argus, LSEG, Bloomberg, Kpler or similar platforms.
  • Basic understanding of LNG shipping, liquefaction, regasification and terminal infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Energy or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in LNG, energy, commodities, oil & gas, market analysis, trading or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of global LNG market fundamentals, pricing mechanisms and international LNG trade flows.
  • Familiarity with major LNG markets, including the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in data analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI, Python, SQL or other data analysis / visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to assess information from multiple market and data sources.
  • Ability to translate complex market information into clear and commercially relevant insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international and commercially driven environment.
